ACADEMIC SECTIONS

Seven academic sections provide the disciplinary context required for informed peer assessment.

Strategy and organisation

Strategy, governance, organisational theory, change and institutional analysis.

Decision and operational sciences

Decision methods, operations, risk, logistics and complex systems.

Accounting and finance

Reporting, markets, stewardship, investment and the allocation of capital.

Markets, enterprise and innovation

Marketing, entrepreneurship, innovation, exchange and consumer judgement.

Work, people and organisations

Employment, leadership, organisational behaviour and the experience of work.

Information and digital management

Information systems, data, technology and organisational accountability.

Public management and policy

Public institutions, administration, public value and policy implementation.

Section assessment

Expertise, independence and terms of reference

Panels are constituted for the relevant election cycle. Collectively, members must command the expertise needed to judge the nomination and must declare any professional, institutional or personal interest before receiving assessment material.

Where work crosses disciplinary boundaries, the chair may seek additional assessment from another section or an external specialist.
