Correction
A factual error in an Academy page, register or publication. Verified corrections are dated where they alter the substance of the record.
Governance
The Academy distinguishes requests to correct the public record from complaints about procedure or conduct.
Submitting a matter
Identify the relevant page, decision or procedure; give the date and a concise account of the issue; state the outcome sought; and attach material that can reasonably be verified.
Mark formal correspondence “Complaint” or “Correction request”. Sensitive material should be sent only through a route agreed with the Academy.
A factual error in an Academy page, register or publication. Verified corrections are dated where they alter the substance of the record.
An alleged departure from a published rule, material procedural unfairness or unmanaged conflict of interest.
Conduct undertaken in an Academy capacity that may breach an applicable standard or the integrity of an academic process.
Consideration and review
The Academy acknowledges a formal matter, determines its proper route and assigns it to a person without a material conflict. The outcome records the issue considered, relevant evidence, reasons, any corrective action and whether one review is available.
Academic disagreement is not misconduct by itself. A complaint does not displace any immediate obligation to contact emergency services, law enforcement, a regulator or the complainant's own institution.
